MEET JAMES

James McCullagh is an academic, an engineer, and a small business owner in Cedar Falls who cares deeply about the quality of education in our community. James grew up in Cedar Falls and attended Orchard Hill Elementary and Price Lab/NU High School. His father, Jim McCullagh, was a longtime professor of social work at the University of Northern Iowa, and his mother, Cheryl , was a well-known social worker in the area who worked at AEA7 for many years.

 

Building on their legacy, James earned a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and has used that education to start and grow his own business - based right here in Cedar Falls - developing products driven by his circuit innovations. Now, James wants to give back by pursuing a seat on the Cedar Falls School Board. His goal is to ensure our schools continue to offer outstanding educational opportunities, support and retain great teachers, and to manage the district's budget efficiently and responsibly.
